Welcome! We’ve carved four months out of our busy lives to take a  journey to the southern end of of the Americas. The magical internet makes it possible to keep in touch and share adventures with our friends and family (and also lets us take our office along to keep up with work).

The Acventure Begins - Torres del Paine, Chile

The Adventure Begins - Torres del Paine, Chile

About us: we’re a well-aged couple celebrating our 10th year together by taking a journey of both outer and inner discovery. We know we are fortunate to have the health and the opportunity to travel for an extended period of time. Our intention is to be open to life and to  learn from both the hard and the magical lessons  that happen while on the road in new lands. We trust this will help us grow personally and expand the ways we can be of service.

We look forward to sharing some highlights with you. Our plans are pretty open. We know we’ll be in Patagonia (Chile and Argentina) for the first month and are heading north, but after that there’s a lot of room to “wing-it” and see what happens. We’d love to hear back from you while we wander!

(One Blog tip – our entries get posted in reverse chronological order, so if you haven’t been here for a while you might want to scroll down and work your way UP. Its kindof like us, going from south to north…)

    Hal and Allison,

My best to you both. I have dreamed of an adventure retracing some of Shackleton’s perilous voyage. Much further south than you are now but pics of glaciers, fauna etc make me dream (better than watching Dow!)

The beauty of nature’s silence must be spectacular where you are.

    Peace to you both,

    Tom

    Hi Hal & Allison:

Its been awhile. What an inspiring trip you are on. I am looking forward to having the freedom to take off for an extended adventure myself. When I get around to it, I hope you won’t mind sharing some of the magical places you discovered on the way!

I’ve been on a sort of inner journey. I am going through this memory course .pmemory.com It has been a pretty amazing process. If you have any interest in that kind of thing, you should take a look at the demo video. I didn’t believe it at first, but the guy is for real.

Well, be safe and I am looking forward to hearing more about your adventures.

    Cary

    Nice blog !!!

Oh how fabulous. You made it. Great pics so I can enjoy your trip vicariously. What a serious adventure you are on and what a lot to put it all together including the ‘office’.

So there you are with the condors and the penguins and the ‘ancient ones’. The peaks are humbling. It must be something to be there not to mention the logistics it takes to get around and fitness it takes to be there. I bow.

I am now in San Pancho delicious velvet warm air, sleeping to the ocean’s lullaby and taking tango lessons a few times a week. I have found a wonderful teacher who has studied in Buenas Aires and dances with me in a kind of infinity house.
It doesn’t have the fourth wall. The house sits up on a hill and overlooks the old part of Puerto Vallarta, the mountains to the west and the ocean to the east. It’s like out of a book.

Then there’s polo three times a week.

How different and amazing our lives and how lucky are we. It was so sweet to read your first chapter. It sounds like you are up for and well readied for one of the great and transformitive times of your life. Glad you are capturing it for you and all of us. Lovely gift.

    Take excellent care.
    Warmly, Holly

So you leave the harsh winter of the Rockies for more cold and blustery? You mountain goats can’t get enough! It looks beautiful, of course. Enjoy your excellent adventure! Y que le va bien, vaya con el sol, amigos…
